Inspired by the groundbreaking TED talk given by activist and fundraiser Dan Pallotta at TED in 2013, fundamentally challenging the way we look at charity, philanthropy, and ultimately leadership, we brought together an incredible panel - Leong Cheung (Executive Director, Charities and Community, The Hong Kong Jockey Club), Mo Yee Lam (Managing Director & Joint Head, Corporate Finance Group of UBS Investment Bank), Kim Salkeld (Head of The Efficiency Unit, Hong Kong Government, SAR), Ada Wong, JP (Chairperson, Make A Difference Institute; Convenor & Director, The Good Lab; Supervisor, HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity). It was a Saturday well spent, discussing how real change can only happen if we start to move beyond siloed industry conversations and begin to rethink how we look at both philanthropy & leadership as a web of cross-sectoral synergies across business, government, and non-profit / social enterprise initiatives.
